Creativity

Creativity is like a fire, you need to feed it constantly with what it needs; as such, your creativity is a flame that will continue to grow as you learn to express yourself.

We are all artists in our own right.

If you are the type of person to say ‘I admire art but I can’t draw at all’ or ‘I only draw stick people.’ Chances are you have a hard time truly expressing yourself, are in an environment where you can’t or simply choose to bottle up certain emotions.

To me art comes in waves, and it is always in a constant flow. Some days I am more creative than others, but at the end of the day I feel happier when I have created something artistic. It started from a young age of building blocks, making clay sculptures and painting; rather than finding excitement in a firetruck or rulers.

Everyone expresses themselves differently and in doing that humans have used creativity to create everything you see around you. Even big corporations that are money focused still need to get creative sometimes to win over the people and feed their money addiction. That said, creativity is everywhere, not just in art but in everyday life. Generally speaking, you can create art anywhere, and in almost anyway as long as you’re expressing yourself.

Thoughts become things.

We never really learned what a ‘thing’ is in the english language. There are 6 official definitions of the word so far. You can remind yourself of them here.

In my own words, a ‘thing’ is a word used in the case of a lack of words. When we want to avoid over explaining or simply lack description and context in what we say. When we think of ‘things’ they often find their way into the physical, material world. One way or another that thought in your mind about failing a test may become a thing; a failed test. We can’t say for sure you’ll fail if you think of it, but the outcome is always a ‘thing.’

My brief theory to why our thoughts become things is because there is nowhere else for them to go. I also believe strongly in the science of matter. Everything is made of matter(particles/atoms) and with that comes energy, which can be positive(proton), negative(electron) or neutral(neutron). Based on this fact, all of our thoughts, whether they are positive, negative or neutral will always find their way into the physical world through an energy source that matches; zeros out.

Breakdown of my thoughts:

positive thought, passing test = positive outcome, high grade, passed test

negative thought, won’t pass = negative outcome, low grade, skipped/failed test

neutral thought, might pass/fail, maybe study = neutral outcome, barely studies, passes but guessed answers, failed but knew some answers

You can. You will.

You can’t. Ok, you won’t.

try saying these positive affirmations aloud when you have time throughout the day, you can always say them in your head too 🙂 be your own motivator, don’t wait for someone to do it for you. Since I started doing this it has sparked more positive thought in my life. Something positive is sure to come out of it, even if it’s small. An example of this is every night before my night shift I often think “I don’t want to go, but I know I should.” Which is rather neutral. Although the outcome is almost always me going to work this neutral thought keeps me in bed hours before my shift contemplating my decision. As time ticks by and my shift is getting closer I start to think “It will be over in a flash and I need the cash” This motto has stuck with me, which is a positive thought, more or less, and it gets me to work. The positive outcome from this is obviously a bigger pay cheque. Try these positive affirmations below… read through to the end for a printable version of this list and more so you can hang this on your wall as a reminder that you are RAD 🙂

I can, I will.
I have been through worse. I can handle this.
One step at a time.
I will figure it out. One thing at a time.
I am more productive than I think I am.
Things are getting better.
I’m grateful for…
I have come so far, I am proud of myself.

stay tuned for an original poster coming soon to The Existentialist Store, filled with positive affirmations and original designs, this poster will remind you that even when life gets tough, it could always be worse. Just be grateful it isn’t 🙂
